The magical dream catcher

The magical dream catcher
Â
Pinkety and Blankety were playing their favourite game until they heard footsteps coming towards them they were so spooked by what they heard next because everyone was meant to be sleeping but out of nowhere came a little voice saying Pinkety, Blankety where are you where are you Pinkety, Blankety it was Feebie sheâd awoken from her 4th bad dream this week since her cuddly toys.
Pinkety and Blankety started sneaking out her room while she was sleeping to play games making sure she didnât wake anyone else they carefully crept out from inside the lining cupboard where they liked to go and play Feebie were over here did you have a bad dream again weâre sorry we left you sleeping but we didnât realise the bad dreams were happening because weâre not with you we thought youâd be OK sleeping without us for an hour or two and weâd come back to be with you before you awoke in the morning.
Like the other 3 times youâve had a bad dream because those other ones didnât wake you like this one has we are sorry if we knew of anything that could stop you having bad dreams while we were away playing as you sleep that would be OK because then youâd be able to sleep again through the night and weâd be by your side at morning light.
During the morning as Feebie was playing with all her toys Pinkety and Blankety asked the other toys if they knew of a way to stop Feebie having bad dreams while they were gone playing games and they all had some really good ideas so they tried a few of them but when Feebie awoke in the morning theyâd ask her how did you sleep and her reply as ever was not too good as Iâd a bad dream again maybe if youâd stay with me for 1 night weâd be able to tell if the bad dreams are coming because youâre not there or maybe 1 of you could go play with another toy and see what happens so they decided to take it in turns after spending a night together and when Feebie awoke theyâd ask how did you sleep her reply would be I slept good with you both there but with just 1 not so good then from outside the room they heard a voice saying dream catchers are what keeps bad dreams away if you make her one of those it may help keep them away.
They open the door and peek into the hallway to find out where the voice had come from but they couldnât see anyone or anything then a voice shouted look up and there hanging from the chandelier was Mr Eight Legs Lee Coles toy spider.
Aw Mr Eight Legs what are you doing hanging around out here please donât get seen by the big people I heard Feebie was having bad dreams so I thought maybe you could do with some help on ideas on what may help her through them and then I remembered that her brothers Lee Cole, Henry and Frankie used to get them at her age when their favourite toys would leave them sleeping to go play so all the toys got together and made them a special present that had a piece of their favourite toy attached they called them dream catchers and when the boys asked their toys what they had made the toys then explained they had made them each a dream catcher to catch their bad dreams we want to see if theyâll work.
So one night while the boys lay sleeping the toys went to play and in the morning when they awoke they asked them how did you sleep and then came their reply we slept very well because you were right beside us but little did the boys know it was because of the dream catchers.
Â
Aw that sounds like a good idea came a little voice from inside Feebieâs bedroom but we donât know what they are or how to make them could you please show us. So, one night while all the big people were sleeping Mr Eight Legs and some of the other toys from Lee Cole, Henry and Frankieâs room went to visit Pinkety and Blankety and some of Feebieâs toys in the lining cupboard so they could make a start on making a dream catcher in hope of stopping Feebie having any more bad dreams.
They started with the outer piece of material and created a heart shaped frame then they worked their way in over taking a piece from each of her toys they then sprayed a little of her favourite perfume onto it so that it smelt like her mother so the scent coming off it was soothing and then they finished it with a little piece of themselves. Once theyâd finished they created a little charm saying Feebie and attached it to the frame so that it couldnât come off and so she knew it was made just for her.
They had finished and just started heading back to the bedrooms which they belonged when they heard footsteps big people shouted Flopsy bunny hide quickly sheâs coming this way. Itâs Mrs Davisson Cooke whispers slidey rabbit she turns around thinking she heard someone or something coming from the study room she peeks inside to see if anyone is there but nothing she thought to herself I must be hearing things and continued to the bathroom once she was out of sight they moved as quickly as they could back to their big peopleâs bedrooms and climbed back into and onto where they had been left by the big people after being played with so no-one knew theyâd moved.
On her way back to her bedroom Mrs Davisson Cooke checked in on her children sleeping making sure everything was as it was when sheâd put them to bed they were all sound asleep still and just as she was about to walk away from Feebieâs room she heard something so she peeked her head back through aw itâs just you Sula I guess itâs too crowded in the bed that you ended up falling off its ok Iâll find a spot for you to cuddle into all the others and gently placed Sula on the bed again between Flopsy bunny, Rxaggedy Roo and Feebie. Whispering goodnight and kissing Feebie on the forehead walked quietly to her own room leaving the door a jar so she could hear them if they stirred as she climbed back into bed and snuggled into Mr Davisson Cooke he whispered I love you.
While the light shone through the curtains and woke the children up they all played quietly in their rooms with their toys till they were shouted down for breakfast. Feebie carefully took her toys down from her bed one by one sheâd noticed Pinkety was holding something tightly in her paws. Feebie wants to ask about what she has found so she begins saying the magic words to bring her friends to life
Â
I see the light it is so bright a time to giggle a time to wiggle, 1 step right then to the left turn around and touch the ground then jump back up 123 then we all shout out ABC.
Iâve a little question to ask all of you could you please tell me what this is I found it clenched in your paws Pinkety it is very pretty is it for me and in unison they all reply yes itâs a dream catcher itâs to catch your bad dreams we hope you like it we made it for you while you were sleeping it has little pieces of each of us threated onto it we also made it so it has your name embedded into it if you have a little smell of it you should be able to smell your mothers perfume the one you really like and keep asking your mother if you can have some on. Aw its smells just like Heat from who did mother say that singer was called again is it BeyoncĂ© she asked her toys as if they knew the answer.
Just as they had planned theyâd left the room while all was quiet and went to play and returned in the morning. I see the light it is so bright a time to giggle a time to wiggle, 1 step right then to the left turn around and touch the ground then jump back up 123 then we all shout out ABC. Theyâd asked Feebie how did you sleep as they played kitchens very well thank you as I know you where there right beside me they gently whispered we were not by your side you must have dreamt it because by 19:15pm youâd falling asleep and as you drifted quietly and the night sky peeped we gently climbed from above your bed to play a game of hide and seek.
Feebie in surprise replied then your present worked it really did I had no bad dreams and look at me am as happy as can be Iâve never felt this way till now because when you were beside me before you started to stray I had bad dreams but knew itâd be ok.Â
