Unwanted Part 1

Unwanted Part 1

Renovations

I remember that day but I wish to forget the one's that followed.
My wife and I took a big step purchasing in an entire block of houses in the old section of the city.
I will not disclose exact location for the fear of the thrill seekers to finally get what their looking for and regret it.

It wasn't really a known occupation to us dealing in real a state, and we knew very little about the work and repairs needed in order to restore the homes to their original historic state.

My wife was so happy of course I was too,
Anything to see that smile, the unfortunate I was soon to go through. We hired the workers all top quality men with reputations of the best workers in town. For a while things went well starting at one end of the block and working to the other.

Early one morning there is bad news a few of are carpenters had suddenly quit without any reason other than hearing of there departure.
If it's true or not couple of the guys told me they were scared shitless. My next question was why. They all say 136 there's something about that place.

With that little bit of information, now back off to work I think are they telling me it's haunted. I don't believe it telling my wife and a few others just to get a laugh. The following day my beliefs would change.

I come into the office to a final order ticket to be looked over before inspected, and what do you know house 136. So i'm off to get it done get in check it out when I find myself stuck looking at the front of the house. Something was off but it was a feeling at first like I forgot something at home or maybe to turn something off. Oh well I thought here goes nothing and turned the key.

The door creaked open immediately struck by a pressure in the air a thick heavy it's sort of hard to explain. Pressing on going about business moving from room to room. I hear noises like knocking and banging here and there. I think nothing of it old houses make noises. When I get back in the foyer I feel the air change and a gaze burns upon me, and there manifesting before my eyes a dark figure in what appears to be a black dress a horrid face with these two dark black eye sockets that were endless. All at once I felt the evil malevolence filled with hate wanting me dead. I was frozen in fear couldn't move looking at the most devilish smile. Sheer will to put one foot in front of the other and fly out the door.

Looking back at the house it seemed to taunt me, but I was so gripped of fear I needed to tell my wife and be comforted. I ran into the office belligerent and unable to speak. My significant other asks me what's wrong you look like you've seen a ghost. I not much of a believer begin to tell her no one is to go in that house it's not for sale. An argument ensues, and from that moment on me and my love never quite saw eye to eye on anything again.

I decided to leave everything up to her and I worked from home for the fear of the house and the anger I had seeing it put on the market. I fought my wife tooth and nail for weeks about the sale but in the end I lost. She handled everything the proceedings of renovations for 136, the inspection, and the sale. I asked her about her time in the house and she would never reply and a disturbing look shown on her face. Not long after all the houses on the block were sold we split the money and split up for good. Im unhappy I fought for my wife but couldn't make it right.
It was the evil in that house responsible for my divorce and for the tormenting it has done to me ever since. My nightmares persistent always seeing that face I can't rest knowing that something like that exists and that a family resides in such a place.
