THE LONGING
A pigeon at my window
Preening its feathers
In liquescent sunshine
Its eyes are pearls
My mind drifted away
Unable to recall
It’s too cloudy thither
Now It dives then soars
Propelling the air
Had I been with it
Would have reached the horizon
To touch its transitioning hues
And taste its drizzling wine
And to be kissed by Zephyr.
He says your eyes are pearls
Vivid and lively
They make us get along
Life brimming with hope
O! Babies calling
See it’s coming back home,
And I hear Maa!
