Your Never Alone

There once was a lonely pencil named Orange, lived with his dad..the two of them orange.

Alone they lived up high on a shelf, no friends to play with, just dad and himself.

Then one day his dad said "Son why so sad?', "go out make some friends it wont be so bad".

His son replied "I cant, don't you see?, there's no other colors that rhyme with me".

"That may be true but you'll never know unless you try, come on give it a go".

So Orange agreed with an upside down smile. "Ok i suppose, see you in a while".

So off went Orange with a brave and bold stride, nervous, excited...he was just petrified.

Then in one great leap he jumped down below where he met his first match and let out a hello.

"Hi there I'm Fred, a pencil of red  and this is my home down here on this bed".

He then looked at Orange scratching his head.

"I'm just Orange, nice to meet you". "I notice you have a name of two?".

Red then replied "of course don't you?"

"Let me introduce you some of my friends, a comradely bunch us color pens".

"This is Green, hes fast, keen and lean, the quickest of artists that you've ever seen".

"And this is Yellow a fine lookin fellow, can be quite mellow but can he play the cello!".

"Then there is Blue, there's nothing he can't do, but enough about them, what about you?"

"Well I can't do anything, I have no flair, my name doesn't rhyme, it's really quite rare".

"I am unique and alone with no stories to share".

"Not true little Orange I'd like you to meet, our newest member...."Hi I'm Purple Pete".

Orange tried putting a rhyme to his name, they were both different colors yet so much the same.

United at last Orange had found a friend,
