Change Is Not Good Half The Time
Mom and dad getting a divorce,
I know they making a terrible choice.
They been together over fifteen years,
to call it quits now just isn't fair.
As a family we done everything together,
anything different couldn't see ever.
Got to find out why they decided to split,
hope it's worth it,
cause this hurt I will never forget.
Who stop loving who,
doesn't matter anyway,
there minds made up,
neither one wants to stay.
Don't want to decide,
between mom and dad,
be forced to pick sides.
All the precious moments I will miss,
my parents one day getting back together,
is all I wish.

this brought a tear to my eye. My Xhusband and I were married 16 years when we divorced and I've always wondered what impact it has had on our daughter. She was 7 when we split and 9 when we finally divorced. Now at 11 I imagine her having these exact same feelings. Thank you for sharing. The journey your parents had can never be understood by anyone but them. But the impact of their decisions will be felt by all who loved them, no doubt. I hope that you have the resources to release your anger sadness and frustration over the situation, coupled with the understanding that all relationships are not the same. XO
