A Christmas prayer.

A Christmas prayer.

And so he was born

On Christmas day

His message of love in my heart will forever stay

2015 many turn away, religion causes war, hurt and pain

But this man did not have a religion, no religion is man made

He did not wish us to wear labels of which church we belonged

He only wished that we see that in each person is all of us

Black, white, yellow all brothers and sisters together

And so he was born

On Christmas day

He asked that we trust him, that we have faith

He gave us free will, to believe, or not

To truly love it can never be forced.

And so he was born

On Christmas day

As he died for us he looked down on his persecutors and he prayed

Forgive them father for they know not what they do

Made in his image, no label of religion ever is needed

He lives in you, the goodness in all of us is his voice

To this voice, be true..

Thank you for your commentâ˜ș glad you like my poem.

It saddens me that people turn away from this message because of religion. I live in Ireland and lots of hurt has been caused because of religion, many children abused etc.. but Jesus did not do this, man did.

I have heard many friends say, "Well thats it, im finished with the church, how could God allow those children, people be hurt?" The truth is, God did not hurt them, or betray them, man did.

We were given free will, otherwise what would be true about being "forced" to behave in a certain way.

Unfortunately as humans we have not always chosen the best way, and priests, nuns or people from all religions have hurt people in Gods name. But this is their doing, not Gods. There choice which they must answer for.

I am in no way a Bible basher, â˜ș and I do not believe or belong to any religion. I was raised a Catholic and I do have a strong faith in Jesus and his message. But I do not need to wear the label of religion.

I honestly believe that we are all one and all have the voice of good within us, we just need to listen and act on this.

This is just my opinion and I respect others opinions on thisâ˜ș Again thanks so much for your comment. x
