Wish -

I wish i could meet the child i once was

I wish i could meet the child i once was

If you could return for just one day to the child that you were what would you say?

Would you warn them against some people they will meet?

Would you sit and listen to each of their fears?

Would you hug them and love them and tell them all will be okay?

Would you jump in a muddy puddle just for fun?

Eat sweets till your sick and run and play?

Oh i wish i could meet the child i was for just one day.

I would tell her shes lovely just as she is

Strong and creative with so much to give

I would tell her to live with all her might

To keep her freedom until the day she finds a love true and pure to someone who deserves to be with her.

Oh i wish i could spend just one day with the child i was

But if i told her all of these things, would i be me now? the women i have become?

Maybe i would just hug her and smile a sweet smile hold her hand and say softly you will make it okay, I wish i could go with you with the wisdom i ve gained, but you need to go through it for us to meet one day.

Louise,

You did an awesome job with this wish, one weal have  wished one time are another to have been able to rectify our wrongs into rights and to be able to relive the times of  our lives, that we have so neatly and with care, tucked away, as memories to forever cherished and shared with loved ones.....Great wish and job well done and congrats to you as well ...

Kindest Regards,

Jim

Louise,

You are quite welcome..And this was a unique piece of writes, that makes us all think on the boy are girl, we use to be and the (what ifs), i.e. if i had changed and accepted this, or gave into alleviation rather than sustained from it, (To whom would i have became)... .It reminds me of one i wrote long ago, (If i only knew me)...I will post as soon as time permits...Great job and hope to see many more (winners) posted near your name...Well deserved.

The kindest of regards,

Jimmy

Your right Jimmy we all think at some time in our life about the "What ifs" . The roads that we took and the people we have meet along the way. The ones who have hurt us teach us the most (well i know this is true in my own life) so it may have been difficult to get past that hurt, but wow did i learn :)

Anyway thanks again for your encouragement and I would love to ready your poem -If i only knew me - hope you post it soon.

Sending Irish hugs your way,

Louise

Louise,

Really gravitated to your response and you are right, its the hurt, that we do learn from and remember the most, sad to say we have to.Yet as you state, it makes us stronger and definitely wiser...Job well done in this poem and the follow up in your comment and sealed its captivation quite well.....And from Florida to Ireland, my gratitude has been air mailed to you as well...And through your request, shall it be posted........So take care of you,(the lady the have become) and the child you once was..

Kindest of all  regards

Jimmy
