World Peace - Words On Marriage - Because Crumblings Marriages Are Crumbling Homes, Communities, Cities, States & Countries
People wonder why marriages fail,
but when people describe someone they'veÂ
"fallen" for, it normally sounds like this:
"She’s beautiful..."
"She’s kind..."
"I can talk with her..."
"She’s funny..."
And so on…
But are these not just selfish, self-centered desires? If the very basis of a union with another person is just yourself, is it not already doomed to fail?
Is not marriage a commitment? A commitment for richer or poorer? In sickness and in health?
Marriage is freedom within the truth that the other person is with you through it all. It is not a free pass, but the foundation that cultivates the most meaningful of relationships.
May our marriages be rooted in selfless love and mutual respect.
