Disenchanted

Disenchanted

Fading shadow of who I use to be
Β I cannot exist if you’ve no faith in me
Roaming realms in tattered mist
Tis such woe to be dismissed

Feeding on angst and fear
That’s what kept me so near
Famished tis emptiness
Acid reflux I must confess

Inferno in bowels of hell
Blackout with disenchanted spell
Belching brimstone gas
Unsure of when I’ll pass.

I’ll just rest here and close my eyes.
On Windfall just ignore my cries
Born anew in one’s nightmare.
I shall haunt you everywhere.

Hi Lisa
I really enjoyed this one,

roaming realms in tattered mist

Could feel the darkened cave
brilliantly done

A riviting write with such emphatic imagery your turn of phase id quite enthralling. "Feeding on angst and fear" this line did make me ponder on the use of the german word angst.

Strange to come across this as I had a large dragon figurine that I loved and I accidently broke it yesterday. Dragons are mythical yet they have been written about since the beginning of time and play a huge role in the mythology of so many ancient cultures and are still powerful figures in modern cultures today. Fascinating stuff. Great write Lisa x
