Poem -

Quiet heart

   She had a quiet heart

      and the desperation of

circumstance to match.

She was an English rose

in a quiet prison of thorns.

She had this,

      She had that.

      Enough rope afforded to her

   as to hang herself

      on wishes

   never would come real.

Could feel through the frozen

   garden she shut out

      to acquire new warmth

from an outside world.
