Shoes And Feet

A man named Joe once wore two custom made black leather shoes. The left shoe fitted on the left foot and the right shoe fitted on the right foot just as well. As he walked down the street all the people would marvel at his black shiny shoes treading stylishly down the pavement in perfect time. One foot after the other, one foot after the other. But one day the left shoe grew tired of always being on the left side and said to the right hand one, āI have an idea, lets just change sides for one day and see how it goes. I bet we will both have fun being the other one for a change,ā he added. The right shoe agreed and the two shoes swapped sides one bright and early Monday morning. The left shoe seemed awkward on the right hand side and stuck out at a funny angle pointing out to the side. The right shoe had the same problem being on the wrong end of the matter on Joeās left foot. Both shoes were quite out of place and neither of them seemed to fit at all any more. The very next day the right shoe said to his partner āLets change sides right away. I long to be back where I belong as I donāt seem to fit well on your side at all.ā āYes, letās do that right away,ā said the left shoe being stuck on the wrong end as well. āIt was a bad idea after all.ā So they changed back to where they belonged and both were quite at home all at once. Always be glad of who you are and never try to be someone else instead. It will never suit you quite as well as always being your own person. You were born to be who you are for a reason. If the shoe fits - Wear it well.

I love the wisdom in this dear poet, I too believe we shouldn't be something that others want us to be, a fine line between pretending and living.Ā Very much enjoyed. š¹Ā
To thine own self be true. You are very much someone like that yourself. š©µ
