Freedom Take Aways

Freedom Take Aways

I hear birds on our roof
taking a break from the sky
as they rest their tired bodies
on a space unoccupied

We fall back on the technicality
that these winged intruders
are trespassing on our property

Their very presence
is an affront
to we pearl clutching occupants
living well within this residence

Surely these weary aliens
must be here illegally
so we call the iron hand of authority
to take away and cage
these feathered trespassers
and make our shelter exclusive again

Do you have to leave for a few hours or can you stay and inhale the fumes?

Great write!

Thanks sparrow... I confess as a child I saw the classic Hitchcock flick "The Birds" and never outgrew my irrational discomfort of seeing a large flock of birds perched near me.. The crazy things that stick with us

Sounds like an Alien invasion... But I love love birds, they beat the immigration policies, crossing boarders... With no passports. Great write. Cheers.

Thank you Cleo... They do greatly outnumber us, so we best treat them with respect :)
