Lyrics: Green Island Serenade
- Translated by Yiyan Han (c) 2025-11-08

Lyricist: Zhou LanpingĀ (åØčč)
Composer: Pan YingjieĀ (ę½č±å)
This green island, is like a boat
swaying in the moonlight.
Oh my Darling, you are also floating
and drifting in my heart.
Ā
Let my song be like the breeze
blowing into your window.
Let my love be like the water
flowing towards you.
The coconut tree's long shadow
can't hide my love,Ā as my heart
is lit up by the bright moon.
The night is already so calm and quiet.
Oh my Darling, why are youĀ still silent?

Hey Yiyan, it is more than good to see your good self back here.
With a gift of a poem, your love poem now generously shared, that you have clearly and respectfully translated.
Tranquility and emotions combined superbly expressed.
Is the stunned silence perchance a state of euphoria or simply something, perhaps private.Ā
It is always so good to read any writer's spin on things, especially the eternal, undying theme of love. True love
Enjoyed reading very much and deserving honors to you for sharing.
Hope you and the loved ones are goodĀ and the Cambridge weather was also sunny for you and all today.
And Yiyan will be back tomorrow to visit you pages with good intentions and read whatever I've missed.
All the best to you and good things :)

Hi Shaun,
Your warm encouraging words have made my day, many thanks.
This was composed in 1954 by Taiwan artists, and later used
as the theme song in a film. ItĀ depicts the emotional uncertainties
between lovers, and thus is still rather popular today in the East.
Kind regards,
Yiyan
Thanks for enlightening me on that front Yiyan and good to know someĀ poems will never fade from the public view .
High regards also to you andĀ your loved ones.
Ā

Than you Bernadete for your liking. I haven't done much recently, and will try to keep translating things I like most.
