Initiate
In my mind's eye,
I awake inside a dark cave
So dim
I can only make out a trickle of light
As I approach, I see it is a trickle dark
It's pouring forth from the centre of three white stripes
Primordial chalk lines of cave art?
A palaeographic symbol on stone?
Getting closer, the flow is blood
The stone is...
(I gasp)
Flesh!
My eyes adjust
I see a hand held up
The wrist is bleeding
My heart pounds behind my ribs
I breathe in deeply yet try to stay still
Who was this?
On further inspection
Who is this?
Not quite a mummy, but...
The thick skin seems to be over 1000 years old
I don't dare touch
My eyes follow the blood down to the elbow from where it drips
The darkness seems to recede slightly
Behold! A forearm leading to a shoulder
(I jerk back, my breath is caught)
A snake rests there
But for some strange reason I do not run
The snake slides softly down his arm
And up to the hand
I am mesmerised
There, on an open palm
I see a sign twirling as if a hologram
The smokey form is an aum
A swirl of air comes upon my face and kisses back my hair
The snake rises up the fingers
It stands tall and straight
A voice comes bouncing off the cave walls
"NABO - Nabo - nabo - nana - bobo - bo"
It echoes all around, as the snake drops to the ground as if dead
I am in confusion
At my feet is a stick
A moment ago it was a snake
I overide my fear
My curiosity burns
And so I touch it
It feels alive, as if it is breathing
But yes, it is wood, green wherever my fingers touch
We have a connection
It fits into my hand like it is possessed by a magnetic force
I return to my standing posture and gaze again upon the yogi
His face is somewhat visible now
And...
Upon his head a woman crowns him
I am unsure if she is a marble statue...
"GANGA-Ganga-ganga-gang-gang-gaga-ga"
She awakens, sees me, and spits upon my forehead
For some strange reason I am not perturbed
She repositions her head and returns to her sphinx like slumber
An orange light flashes across
Left to right
The gold of a trident appears
It's stunning!
I wander over to gawk
Something seems out of place
The hand that holds it
It's entwined oddly
As I move position
Encircling anti clockwise
I see the hand is like two hands
Another arm leads down
Over it is draped a toga
This is not one man but two?
Instead of the plaited tips of the first aspect
I see tightly curled locks that frame a beard
His wide pale nostrils appear to be breathing
I trace his contour from the earlobe
Down his neck, shoulder, and left arm
His hand is stretched out
Upon it rests a fish
It gulps at the air and its gills are flapping
As if it has just been caught
I stretch out the stick in my hand and poke it
"ALPHA-Alpha-alpha-alal-phapha-pha!"
I flinch and cringe at this third utterance
When I open my eyes again,
The fish is now a golden pendant dangling off a chain
Olive oil is flowing from the hand
It drips off the necklace
I gently lift it with the stick
It's slippery, but I mange to put it on
Something else stirs
I hear the sound of a woman as if awaking from sleep
Cupping the gift to my chest, I look up
"ATHENA-Athena-athena-aa-ththe-ena-na!"
Booms the voice
Something cracks very loud
I feel a rumble
A burst of water springs from the head of these twins
I wait till the ground has settled
Stepping cautiously
I follow the flow of oil toward the source of the golden light
It gathers at the bottom of a third artiface
Flowing over the surface of a rock is a fountain
At its feet appears to be an altar
Oil and water and blood mix and flow into a pool
Above it rests the fire
I thrust the tip of the stick inside
"TAPAS-Tapas-tapas-tata-paspas-pas"
Pulling back I see a flame hovering above the stick
I feel compelled to touch it with my finger
My skin is not scortched
But a heat gushes in and fills my hand
It spreads down to my groin
Bursts of energy set off inside me like fireworks
Popping up my spine
My third eye opens as my head swings up to behold a dove hovering over the rock
My ray of light dissolves into hers
I am charged up!
My oil, water and blood activated
Time to begin the mission
Of being a true Kyrist-El-Yon
Where are the other warriors?
Release our battle cry!
Do not quench this Spirit!
