Moon

Moon

Once more pallid moon
into the shine of
blackberry night,
along the path of the stars
an enchanting immortal eye,
roving the deepest pools
in oceans of darkest night
a mournful glare at the Earth
from the depths of cold night,
hanging face of a lonely soul
a reflection in the owlΒ΄s still eye,
a solitary light haunting
the silent grove,
listening to the dark and light
in the glow of the departing Sun
and Autumn twilight
.
The old roamer gildedΒ
in silver and gold,
through the red sky mists
to emerge full and bold,
hauling the hearts of mermaids
flashing silver and gold,
to float and sail by
upon the passing clouds
and flowing moon tides
