The Kingfisher
River current and morning dew
a turquoise star of wildflower
green and electric blue,
through deep river pools
dipped in rainbow hues.
Amongst winter´s drab death
of broken reeds,
rises spring´s starburst blue flower
upon the wilting Willow trees,
vibrant beauty of the air
born of shivering grass and flower blooms,
to kiss the lonely pools
in grand palaces of solitude.
Adorning spring´s tranquil tears
in a gentle rush of sovereign
wet sunlight and royal blue.

Hello Tony...
Great write...
Great pic...
A lot of people don't like birds...
Do you think they prefer worms?
Thank you for sharing...

Hi sparrowsong, hope you are very well. Thank you for taking the time to read and make a lovely comment on my poem. Maybe they do prefer worms, who knows, what do you think? Thank you for reading.
Hello Tony...
I think...
Birds eat the worms...
Shouldn't mess with the system...
😊
You're welcome...
Thank you...
