Nature of the Beast

Nature of the Beast

It’s hunger that rides this old crow
Heedless of carrion’s dire woe
Savory as festering eyeballs swell
Just hints of decay just as well

Sunbaked such gourmet-treat
So tender delectable sweetmeat
Aplenty for my feathered friends
To gather and gossip latest trends

Now roadkill tis acquired taste
Scattered remains such waste
Blood and gore so clichΓ©
Don’t need that mess anyway

Brains exposed my cup of tea
Β Means less work for likes of me
Patience virtuous, momma’s surmise
Tis time to gorge on this tasty prize

Lisa, what a beastly write!!!...and for all the right reasons.
Dear Lord you're good at what you do and it is wonderful (regardless of theme) to read you.
And if you offer up something this darkly deliciousΒ  here and now, what on earth are you saving up for this forthcoming Halloween Night.
Something perhaps to slip its leather leash or heavy chain and let rip...
Great write again and full honours coming your way, for this contented reader thanks you for sharing the poeticΒ  roadkill :)
