Poem -

Oceans apart

My daddy’s cancer battle

Across the vast expanse that separates,
My heart aches for you, behind Scotland's gates.
In Milton Keynes, my home, you bravely fight,
While I'm engulfed in sorrow's endless night.

Dad, your battle with this cruel disease,
Fills me with fear, I'm brought to my knees.
I long to be near, to hold your hand,
But miles divide our cherished land.

Brain cancer's grip, unyielding and harsh,
Casts a shadow, leaving my soul to march
Through depths of despair, yearning for your smile,
Praying I'll make it home, if only for a while.

The thought of losing you, my dearest dad,
Breaks me apart, leaves my spirit sad.
I'll brave the distance, let nothing impede,
To gather your love, the comfort I need.

Until I can make it back to your side,
Know that my love for you will never subside.
You're the beacon that guides me through this strife,
Dad, you are the greatest gift in my life.
