Poem -

a winter's swallow

Whispered I, with curious ear,
Of a swallow, with winter near,
"Will you stay, or disappear?
Tell me, swallow, what you fear?"

"Swallow, whisper gently in my ear,
Does your heart hold memories dear,
Of warmer days that once were here
In this chill that's drawing near?"

With a flutter, soft and sheer,
The swallow left, no more to hear.
But in her silence, it was clear,
She held the answers, whispered e're.
