Eternity In One Moment

Eternity In One Moment

The voice, quietly hiding in the corner of the mind,
the word, just hanging on the edge of the lips,
and the eyes softly concealing the light.
The feet find a little place among the grass,
the fingers enlace and the moment stands still.
One moment where we are entwined with time,
                                            just one moment when contentment
finds peace in the stillness of our mind,
                                            and nothing else matters.
                                            For one moment.

Greetings from a suburban enclave in Pennsylvania named Schwenksville, which wooded acres enclosing Highland Manor Apartments add a sense of rural vestiges, when about half a century ago, the land encompassed family farms with nary a trace of vinyl city until developments rendered industrialization including major pharmaceutical companies avidly plowing research and development funds into the next major physical health magic bullet, which medications a lifesaver for many people even yours truly (me), who takes nine prescription drugs to allay chronic social anxiety (no longer including disabling panic attacks), dysthymia, profuse sweating - palmar hyperhidrosis - of palms, thus qualifying me to receive social security disability.

You are more than welcome, Matthew! Greetings to you too. You’re not new here after 8 long years, but I still want to say welcome to Cosmo, since you never bring the ink to our pages. From my part, I am humbled that you read my poems and send me a feedback.
You shouldn’t feel social anxiety with us. Please don’t. Cosmo is a friendly and accepting community and no one should feel excluded.
You’re a fast thinker with an incredible vocabulary and knowledge of the English language. To tell you the truth, I need a strong coffee before I read your writings. And I still have to read it twice. And this is a compliment. A huge one.

Thank you Bernie for your great comment. Yes, every one of us have one of those quiet & blissful moments. We just close our eyes and feel peace. Even if it lasts for one moment. But what a precious moment it is.
