Poem -

A dose

It's like a little dose of reality, a poem.
To write it well commands one's attention.

Not at all like hell, that is always there

Whether one feels the draw of it

On them or not.

It is like being at the bottom of the pool.

It's being too cool in the summer when

All that's known to you is being pulled aside.

Quickening some sickening panic thing

Welling up inside. It's the freedom from that.

A well written poem supposes things are clear.

It determines you, a voice reached deep for.

It could invoke the visual of a comb

In the bathroom, the cereal making noise

When you add the milk for breakfast in the morning.

Or simply, it is about love.

It is about a wife you imagine attending church with. It really is nothing.

Or it's everything, dear Rory, there is a mountain of taste in our world, there are all types of poets and all types of poems, those who write from the heart are my personal favourite poets you being one of them, relating to ones words well you also get that grateful appreciation because it hits us we are not alone. Your last line makes my heart bleed, we all deserve love and we all deserve someone to go anywhere with, be it church, the shops, cinema or just watching the stars.  It's a cold world to be alone in. 🌹 Your poem another wonderful injection of poetry in my humble opinion.

Maybe not all bleeding hearts are bad things. Isn't it proof of humanity?
I'd rather mine bleed than for it to not.

It's certainly proof of yours dear friend, and yeh, I'm a hopeless woman when it comes to love I have a heart openly bleeding, and I will never be ashamed to say it. 🌹

I have noticed sometimes the votes get wiped and I have no idea why, maybe an internet thing, yours were gone,  I've put them back because I would never take them away, do let me know if it happens as I will always come back to replace them. 🌹

Had to scroll a long way back to find this cos you're not writing lately... why? I miss you zany style. I think I agree with what the narrator is trying to say( if I'm correct that is) ... I mean anything can be written about... literally anything. One poet might write... this is a plate... boring...
while another might write of a plate and have us in heart broken tears. For me its the bleeding heart in a poem every time.
If you've no clue what I'm talking about I'm sorry... sometimes I suspect I don't either.

Meh, I put together my book with my favourite poems, titled The Baynes st poems. It only took 8 years, with 20 years of practice to boot. Now gathering some fresh inspiration and thoughts for book 2, I think it will be called Late days.
