Poem for a firstborn

Moon, moon,
Super Moon,

I wait for

The morning news,

Sun to reset

It's resin of light

Like a gem

In our sky,

The night birds

To wake.

When that bend

Of light strikes

Your eye

Does it ring true

For you

Or for I?

Dawn, as a firstborn,

Bringing promise.

Promise like a chosen

One.
