Arid Land of a Desolate Heart
Covered in dust
the desolate heart can only feel
the thorns and stones in this arid land
where ravens constantly pick
on clean and shiny bones.
Ah! this unforgiven barren land
has no compassion
for desolate souls!
But when the winds are called
to lift the unwanted dust,
the ravens are exiled and the soul set free,
giving an arid desolate land
the chance to become a garden.
Only when the heart is thirsty for love
and the past is left behind
can the skies open to showers of fresh rain
so the heart may flourish
and learn how to love again.

Beautiful work Bernadete. I greatly admire how you utilise nature in such an eloquent way to reflect torment and the transformation within to escape it.
…and I greatly admire the way you see and feel poems. Thank you Ian! Stay well,

Ah, Marion, wisdom is such a hard thing to obtain. Maybe one day, my friend. Just maybe.
I am so glad you like it. Hugs back to you in many folds.

let come
the love
to the desolate heart
to clean the dust of loneliness
let come
the love
to the desolate heart
to fill with happiness
of the brimful nature
let come
the love
to the desolate heart
to draw the peaceful soul
on the celestial canvas
let come
the love
to the desolate heart
to write the epoch-making poetry
on the fertile veins
(.............) just inspired by this poem.
