Sleep police

Revised

When it's after dinnerĀ
And time for sleepĀ

You're the police.

You want to go outĀ

After dark.

Ā

But town is tomorrow's problemĀ

I'll deal withĀ

When tomorrow's sun comes up.

Sleep policeĀ

Let me sleep,

Ā

My acrophobic wishless thinkingĀ

Gets to me.

I'll brave the publicĀ

Never if I never sleep.

I'll dream betterĀ

Ā

In the light of day when I'm rested

And there's not anotherĀ

Place for me.

Sleep police,

Let me, let me be.

I'm not sure what happens to the brain when it craves dark and aloneness instead of people and light... but its happened to me also x
