These Abstract Enemies of Mine

These Abstract Enemies of Mine

Death is a moving force
to all things that end.
For me, it was a heavy obstacle—
to reach our everlasting.
Fast and rapid in its audacity,
Cruel and slow in its intensity.
Forever destined to conquer,
I wish it never kissed my lover:

In heaven,
where curtains of white and gold
decorate His throne,
my lover alone, the shining object
etched in its glass stone.
Fighting a losing battle,
Yet conqueror of many wars,
He stands no chance
where my lover kneels before.

Love is but a curse,
wilting away with Time.
As King and Queen, they mate,
at the expense of all our demise.
But oh, had they truly known my lover,
the sweetest soul alive,
Then perhaps they will find reason…
my revolt should not be fined!

If usurping thy majesty is treason,
my lover is worth every crime.
And if my armor costs me my life,
that too will be worth every dime.
Time once lived—
but now is extinct to me and mine.
So, therefore, I must avenge Her,
for the sake of all mankind.
I will give my life to be victorious
over these abstract enemies
of mine.
