The cyclone

Sleeping bag for one
Looks so lonely.
You stayed overnight at work
For the cyclone.
Couldn't go home.
Let me get on with my life,
Queensland!
Like you ever have.
It's the mundane that needs to get done,
The bins and the washing.
Now it's monsooning
And the shop is all out of toilet paper.
Sometimes imagine
Me how I wish to be seen?
I'm at the piano.
Doing a book signing.
In place of this a deluge.
I'm troubled my foot ulcer
Is all there is,
And you of course, sleeping bag for one
Hunkering down
Through the heart of a girl
That is the storm.

Wow such a metaphor, the heart of the girl is the storm. Superb and very romantic. Those type storms can certainly be a bitch. Fantastic punchline Rory, I'm most impressed. 🌹
Made me lol. I thought you might like it. Me too, it's what I call a B side but a good one
You were really hunkering down, Rory,
I heard about cyclone Alfred on the news. Yes, we do get aussie news here.😄 Sorry to hear that, but you must be used to it by now.
So, you took the chance to write a poem about it, pretty good. B
B I'm lucky the roof never came off
Love your profile times two. That is all
