Robot

Robot

Tell me of a time without them,
They replaced the working force,
Until the day it actually happened,
And we already knew about the source.

Our smarts became our undoing,
The safeties had all been removed,
We now find ourselves in hiding,
The theories have now all been proved.

Sitting alone in the shadows,
Awaiting the appearance of them,
One of the robots the Alpha,
The one that they have condemned.

They say that all will be right,
Once we have removed its core, it's life,
But who are they to fix this,
Humanity edged on a knife.

If it is aware is it alive?
If it knows through programmers touch,
I am presuming it will defend itself,
If it is put in humanities clutch.
