Reflection of the mirror

My response on a poetry site about how I see it all..
or as Pink would say: “the vision of the one I see...”

How is it that so many are focused on outer appearance,  
do we still see the inside, or are we all becoming clones.  

Have we, in a way, lost the essence of being.  
And is it only the outside that still holds our admiration.

Are some simply bored, too comfortable. 
Do they feel untouchable, maybe even a little divine. 

Can we find out why this is happening,
where exactly did we lose our way.  

All I hope is that we don’t react with bitterness or blame,  
but rather look deeper… what lies behind it. 

And maybe, just maybe, create a kinder, more beautiful world.  

Because let’s be honest: true beauty, inside and out,  
is so much more powerful.
