Poem -

03/03/2012 WEST LIBERTY

Underneath these dark and gloomy skies. life forced to change.
Our world began to realize.
As the winds did rearrange.

Children praying with their mother.
With the crashing sound.
Vengeance like no other.
Gone was the small town.

With wind,hail,lightning and thunder.
Nature began to reclaim.
Broken houses,lives trapped under.
Day breaks and nothing is the same.

Where the school did stand.
Education once taught.
All that remains is the sand.
Answers now being sought.

Rescuers called out.
Searching the remains.
As they heard the child shout.
From the twisted trains.

A young life did the winds spare.
Carried by a stranger.
As the world shows its care.
From the danger.

It's been two years now.
Scars still around.
Still we ask how.
Breaking new ground.

A young child he did save.
A stranger from the small town.
As he visits his wife's  grave.
They sat upon this scarred ground.

With his family gone.
As stranger back when.
Now to have as his own.
A child's cry  puts a town at peace again.
