Poem -

A Fathers Plea

Though I'm covered in pain.
In my heart you will always remain.
A love that an eternity could not contain.
My daughter with a better life you tried to gain.

I will mis your conversations.
And will always remember the revelations.
I stand tall now upon your foundation.
And smile as I recall all your temptations.

To hold you tight.
Just one more night.
So to ease both of our frights.
You seen the world in such a beautiful sight.

And filled many empty holes.
With your benevolent soul.
You taught the world to grow.
With the love and forgiveness that you did show.

My little girl,Ellouise.
Looking upon the stars and asking please.
Why did you have to fight such a horrible disease.
A pain that has put me on my knees.

Knowing I could not help you,my most precious gift.
Even in your last days, you tried to lift.
Everyone up from the pain that wasn't at all swift.
Please God give me the power to time shift.

Please let my heart not turn sour.
And let the pain not devour.
All I ask is one more hour.
With my daughter,I know you have the power.
