15th of August

15th of August

There are times when I wish
I could read your thoughts, but
on reflection, I prefer not to,
otherwise, I would be not
surprised and amazed for discovering
those beautiful expressions of your face.
Like when you divagate and lose your gaze
in the far distance of the silence
where your thoughts are solved
but, aware that I am watching you
you turn to see me, and
with a smile you give me a kiss,
leaving the taste of milk and honey on my lips.
Then I hold your hand, and
rejoice with the feeling
of the summer of our youth
brimming in my spirit,
as we walk the long road
back home.
