$24.00

I wrote my Raven to symbolize
'mournful, never-ending remembrance.'
It happened...I’m remembered
I only made $24.00 on that poem
who cares drink up..
When I died,
I was on his way to
Philadelphia for an editing job.
My doctors advised me not to travel.
I lost my luggage.
Wonder what’s in that trunk
Don’t think I wanted that job
who cares drink up..
Griswold wrote my obituary:
portrayed me as a mad, drunken, womanizing opium addict
who based his darkest tales on personal experience
True A little bit
\who cares drink up
You won’t forget me though
One thing I did create
about myself
never-ending remembrance
never-ending remembrance
