9:11 pm

lorelai

i feel trapped
inside a cage
my feelings
are trapped
on the inside
of me

i wish i could just
spill them out
like a can of beans
they are waiting
to come out

i feel like i’ve
been poisoned
with love

love is
a wonderful
thing

but sometimes
it becomes
too much

and sometimes
you need to get out
but you need to stay
and you can’t leave
because you know
it would do
more harm
than it
would good.

Welcome to Cosmo.
This is quite an expressive and emotive free style offering and I enjoyed reading it aloud.
It reads a lot like the poetry I hear on Friday nights during open mic night at a coffee house I frequently patronize for poetry slams near the University of Cincinnati.
