A BLUESY NIGHT

It was a bluesy kind of night
A storm was brewing in her eyes
A fiery mass of emotions
Stirring up, inside her cries
Internal pressure's building
The dam's about to break
She can't hold it, any longer
She's begun to rumble, quake
She tried to give him a warning
She tried to let him know
But he never stopped to listen
And now she's going to blow
He didn't see the pressure building
Or see the anger in her eyes
He didn't see the outward signs
Until it was too late to realize
It all started as a trickle
But now, there's no turning back
Her emotions spewed, ruptured
Into a sudden volcanic attack
It was a bluesy kind of night
She split wide open, falling apart
He never saw it coming
He didn't listen to her heart
He felt the blast of her anger
There was nothing he could do
But let her angst and fury flow
Until she decided she was throughÂ
Now, he pays attention
He looks for the signs in her eyes
He's become much more attentive
And he holds her when she cries
