Poem -

I LIE HERE DYING

I LIE HERE DYING

I let you break my heart
A thousand times, you win

You broke my spirit

The way it's always been

I tried to let you shine

As I became so small

A thousand times

I didn't matter to you at all

I let you break my heart

I let you break me down

I let you make me as nothing

I let you take my crown

A thousand times and more

I gave it all to you

Knowing, always knowing

One day, we would be through

I let you break my heart

A thousand times, you win

I lay here dying

The way it's always been

Nine Eleven

We always think that others will change, that their hearts can become something else, softer perhaps, but the mind controls the majority of lifes perspective, how people see life. Control is damaging in humanity, it's a trait left for the capitalists, not for a family.

Beautiful and sad poetry Gayle.

Thank you Nine Eleven, I could almost hear Amy Winehouse sing this with the tune, Back To Black.
