A Boy's Best Friend

A Boy's Best Friend

He grew up
Scared and alone
Not knowing love
Not having a real home

He'd walk the hallways
Trying to find a way out
But all the bullies
Made him doubt

He wouldn't let
Anyone see him cry
So he walked outĀ
Late at night
And hugged his dog

Even in the rain
And in the fog
His tears ran down
Like a waterfall

A boy's best friend
Made him stand tall
A boys only friend
Was his dog

He grew up
Still struggling to love
Because he was given none

He's turning 20 soon
And he looks up at the moon

That his best friend
Howled at the night, as a puppy
That boys best friend
Always made him happy

He wishes he was still here
To help him through his fear
He needs you here
To hold him again
A boy's best friend

He feels so lost
Without his baby
And no one can replace
Him

He'd do whatever it takes
To hold him again

A boy'sĀ best friend....
