A Brand New Start

It has been exactly one year 
since I decided to leave
you.

That day was a brand new 
start for me.

A chance for me to find 
myself and take control 
of my life. 

I took a hosting job at a
small restaurant and guess 
what I loved it. 

One of the other waitresses 
needed a roommate. We 
became fast friends, so I 
moved in with her.

I'm not going to lie to you 
I did have days when I 
thought about running back 
to you not because I missed 
you, but I did missed the security 
you gave me. 

I started to work on my designs
and that turned into my side 
business.

My co-workers paid me to
make them clothes. 

I saved up the money to 
open to my own boutique.
It will open by next year. 

When I look in the mirror I 
can finally see myself and 
not the shell of a woman you
made me become.

One year later I am happier and 
healthier than ever and I plan
on staying that way
