Poem -

a broken heart

a broken heart

In the silence of my room, I feel the gloom,
The echoes of 'us', now just a whisper in the tomb.
Your shadow on the wall, like a faded perfume,
Memories on replay, my heart's in a monsoon.

I'm tracing our steps, in the streets we roamed,
Where laughter was our language, in love's sweet dome.
Now I walk alone, where our dreams had flown,
In the cold light of stars, your absence is etched in stone.

I gave you my all, didn't hold back a part,
You promised forever, now I'm left with a fractured heart.
The trust we built, now just ruins apart,
I'm sifting through the pieces, trying to make a new start.

The nights stretch long, with your side of the bed cold,
I reach out in the dark, for the warmth I can't hold.
Our dance is done, the story's been told,
But my heart still echoes the lies that you sold.

They say time heals, but it's just a slow fade,
The memories linger, in the mess that we made.
I'm learning to breathe, in the shadow you've cast,
Moving on from our love, a relic of the past.
