A Castle on the Hill
When I was new to the dating thing,
with Her there by my side,
There was a place where we could go,
even though we couldnt really hide.
After school was over, we'd sit in the lot,
Overlooking the people passing by.
On our little shaded table,
Where we could watch the rain fall down,
Or the fog roll in.
Sometimes the leaves turning brown,
and people laughing in the sunshine.
It was a time capsule for us.
Where we could see the year go by.
And watch as the days we were together grew.
When we could sit on our little bench,
and she could lay against me,
and I could Hum to her,
When all the world was silent,
we filled the world with music.
Even if we both were singing nonsense,
somehow it sounded beautiful.
For the fact that I had her,
a wonderful person to hold in my arms.
To watch her eyes lock with mine,
and see the world of serene joy reflected in them.
Or sometimes watch her hair fall in a curtain around my head,
Until the whole world was only each other.
I miss those days of Idling,
even though they didn't make the stars move.
I missed the feeling of simply being.
And I will miss it,
our castle on the hill...
