A fool's last ask

A fool's last ask

Feel the dice in trembling fingers
douses urge, cemented craving singes
Kisses once for luck and chuck
in a sick spiral mind be stuck

See the dice teeter and still
will the numbers fit the bill?
May 'Lady Luck' smile on the sinning
float addiction up to 'lose all' brimming

Yesterday's of hopes and dreams
lost swimming in winless streams
An ever asking goad for more
calls rabid wolves to open door

Just the one big win and all to end
thinking reality gone off the bend
Teasing sense to believe as true
a gambler's bloodstream seeping through

Feed the demon one more course
lose the Jockey to keep the horse
Compelling each fibre 'do it again'
bookies laughing at stupidity reign

Line up losers you head the game
there's only stench of low life shame
Repeat reasons and bluffs to all
tread the 'last time' tightrope to fall

'Run' 'Run' escape unstoppable debts
leave the innocent to be homeless frets
Though you can't out run the pain
in destroying others to soothe afflicted brain

Grasp the straw, cage urge to rehab
deaden pitiless ask with professional stab
A gambler and worldly goods be soon apart
a clock drips  the anonymous party to start

Hello Wendy...

Great explanation of the world of the gambler and the ones just waiting to grab hold of other people's money...

Some pockets get full while others get empty...

Well done!

Thank you for sharing...
