A Hunch

There may still be time till my used by date. But something fishy tells me I've passed my "best before". I cannot do the things I used to do so well any more. Is it because I'm over the hill? Have the abuse of the years caught up? Did I take too much of my energetic youth, and use it all up? Where can I get a second wind to keep running this race? I really don't want to finish on this note and leave a legacy of disgrace. I still have work to do to make with folk amends; debts to pay and knowledge to share, to tie all the loose ends. Preferably I'd like it all to be done before I am retired. It's fairly pointless to wait until I'm expired.
