A Kiss

A Kiss

I could kiss you like I used to
But it wouldn't be the same
These lips wear too many battles
A teasing tongue can't win the game

You could kiss me like you used to
But it wouldn't taste as sweet
The years have beaten the ego
An empty soulless treat

Still we insist on existing
And playing out this game
Not dead but very nearly
A fruitless, heartless shame

I could kiss you like I used to
But it wouldn't be the same
Your lips are like a stranger
The taste is all that remains.

Hi  Allen Your piece reads kind of sad

as if it is a long relationship that has had many up s and downs

from them first kisses that were so good to the reality now of

feeling little from that kiss ,as if it is not wanted now, maybe love has died

(just my thoughts as i read )

Great piece, which i think a few could relate to

A Belated Welcome to Cosmo

Best wishes Debs
