‘A la carte’

‘A la carte’

I’m on a balmy beachcomber with my margarita in a glass
I’m mingling with the gentry all of which are upper class
Whilst I don’t comprehend a word they say, everyone is from ‘down south’
I’m a northerner you see they talk with marbles in their mouth

Mind you if I don’t understand them, they certainly won’t decipher me, us Northerner’s speak very fast, I live on the Scottish borders you see

Haha so if I just lie in my hammock staring out to the turquoise sea, I won’t need to converse with them & then they won’t bother me

I’ve no intention chatting to anyone, it’s coz they look so very posh
I would be lost in their conversation as they are splashing out their dosh

Different people with different lives, we are world’s apart
Tho I can put on my air’s & graces & share their menu of ‘a la carte’
