A LIFE OF DEATH

I uncontrollably shiver in this cold
With every cough of the sky, my heart thumps
It was drizzling a few moments ago
The dry roots drank with joy every drop that fell
Look! The roots drown in what they longed for
Misfortune lays an ambush in the flood of fortunes
The tower bows at the feet of the quake
Without provocation, the dear deer gets mauled
Who saves the squeaky mouse from the grips of the snake?
Why does nature give life instead of strength to the weak?
βThe wise saves for the futureβ it is said
Can wisdom foretell how long one can survive the present?
Nothing is unreal like certainty
Some fall flying; some crush landing
Tears of a mother giving birth to the dead
Sweats of labourers working for nothing
Hope is but an imaginary rope that we cling to
I have seen many get themselves hanged by it
Though a handful had its swings of reverie turn into reality
Helpless souls trapped between the sky and the land
In search of an evasive control
Living in denial of a biting reality
The reality of a life of death
