A Love That Is Gold

A Love That Is Gold

The fire burns smoke from your cigarette,
A deep glow, like a thousand sunsets,
That have come and gone,
Like the afterglow of the sun,

Charcoaled burning crisp,
Like the Olympian flame,
A phoenix, raised from the ashes,
Liked jewelled rings,
Reflecting from your hand,
Barbequed golden grains of sands,
In the hour-glass chimes,

Every time your heart beats next to mine,
You fill my heart with golden rays of sunshine,
That flow through me time after time,
Yet our story is left untold,
A story of a love,
A love that is gold.
