A Man and His Dog
This poem was inspired by an episode of All Creatures Great and Small

When a man took his dog to a vet, he had to have him put down.
Both the dog and the owner ended up being buried in the ground.
The poor man couldn't take it when his dog died.
He was so devastated that he committed suicide.
People can't understand why he ended his life over a dog but his dog was like a son.
His dog was the closest thing he had to a kid and he decided to end it all with his gun.
He never got the chance to get married and have kids of his own.
He lost his beloved dog and then he was all alone.
He loved his Cocker Spaniel and couldn't continue to go on.
He ended his life and people are sorry because he's gone.
He was such a nice man and he did good things for people when he was alive.
Many people are shocked because that man didn't want to continue to survive.
He couldn't bear to lose his dog and he wanted to die.
Many people are grieving as they have to say goodbye.

Based on fiction but the fact is it hurts to lose a fur baby, it hurts a lot — worse than hell. There are too many people who just don't get it. " But it's just a dog," they say. But they're not just dogs ...they are the very special members of our families. Some people have only themselves and their dog.
A fabulous poem, Randy, well done x
