Poem -

A MAN ONCE OF HIGH RENOWN

Out in my town the shop fronts and street gutters
A man of once high renown stutters and mutters
No bed for the night and no food on his plate
His prospects of survival are not good or great

How did this man finish up this way ?
I shake my head as people go about their day
His money all gone and now desperate for a quid
The family have disowned him and no longer sees his kid

This man has ragged clothes on his back and unkept hair
I know what you're thinking life is cruel and unfair
So if you see him when you are next in my town
Remember the saying what goes up must come down
