A Meeting Of The Greats

A Meeting Of The Greats

That's 'great,' the things we used to do -
like Tony's magic tricks, I woke up in Istanbul,
get what you wish for if you're not careful,
there's not much time, learn how to be grateful.

I wrote a novel, sold two copies, I'm reading one,
my wife is reading the other, we do have some fun,
tried to make someone disappear, when I looked, gone,
sometimes we'd like to do that, especially a cocky con.

I went, the Aussies call it 'walkabout,' well they would,
wouldn't they, Alice Springs doesn't endear as it should,
been to the Far East, Norwich, no really we had a feast,
you wonder, like those magic tricks, what do you like least.

Maybe the magic rings, that clink that was overrated,
until you thought they could never be really separated.
