A mother’s love and loss

Life’s too short she’d say, to be separated.
When I left, did you cry in my room.
Hold my old worn clothes to your face.
Expect me in from school
Did you pray I wasn’t homesick.
Oh how I cried looking at the hay fields through unfamiliar windows.
Envying the passing clouds as they made the journey I could not make.
Alone in a toilet cubicle stifling the sniffling and hegging
Fearful, Red eyed, voice shaking, heart braking, chest aching
If only these corridors could take me home.
My life was changed Mammy, my heart was broken and my life would never be the same again.
Little did I know that your live was slowly ending.
You were leaving our home, going to your true home and I would never know our home again.
I’ll never forget the rain that night when we took you to the Pike
It was almost like God himself was crying

This is such a beautiful but sad piece when we lose someone so close. Delicate read and enjoyed it. Well versed x
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND AND SUPPORTIVE COMMENT PRATIBHA. SOMETIMES MY EMOTIONS ARE SO STRONG AND I'M FIT TO BURST. AT TIMES LIKE THIS I'D ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO BE ABLE TO EXPRESS MY FEELINGS IN WORDS, BUT SADLY WORDS FAIL ME.
