A PATHWAY TO LOVE
Love is like a dreamÂ
When you least expect itÂ
It creeps up upon you invading your thoughtsÂ
It's a private experience at first
As you allow yourself to be swallowed wholeÂ
By the excitement, intrigue and lures of loveÂ
But like a dream that must come to its end
You must awake out of sleepÂ
And follow the the desires of your heartÂ
Never being afraid to love
As you recall bits and pieces a dreamÂ
That lingers around the shifting shadowsÂ
Of your mindÂ
Even so, the fantasies of loveÂ
That once colored your heart so beautifullyÂ
Must be embracedÂ
Allow love to take the preeminence
Over your very life
Even though it may disrupt the normÂ
Or cause you to walk as a blind manÂ
Into immense darknessÂ
Despite the dangersÂ
It is better to love
Than to dwell in its illusionsÂ
And fantasies.
